Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

Beach Walkers!

After our leisure morning of coffee and reading, Mr. Fun called Skipper's Restaurant here in Cayucos to order two "Sand Dollar Sandwiches"; then he went to get them. We ate breakfast and immediately took the three pooches for a walk to the beach.

Whenever we walk toward the beach, I never know whether or not we're actually going to head down the stairs onto the sand. Well, today the tide was quite a ways out, the wind was calm, so we headed onto the sand and walked the couple of miles south to the county park beach with the parking lot and restroom. We made a pit stop there and the pups drank a whole bucket of water. Then we changed direction and walked north back to our exit from the sand. Once we got up off the sand, our pups were pooped. The three blocks to home taxed them some, I am sure. We had to keep coaxing them to keep walking.

We finally arrived back at the house. They each gulped down a sufficient amount of water and then I gave them all a heaping scoop of cottage cheese and another scoop of plain yogurt; they like both of those. Mr. Fun made a hot dog and couldn't believe I didn't want one. I was tired not hungry. He often interprets "tired" for hungry. He also interprets "bored" with hungry. That's why weight is an issue for him. I had just walked 3 to 5 miles (I'd like to know exactly) and I was thrilled that I had possibly walked off some calories; I didn't want to load them back on again. I'd be content with two meals a day; Mr. Fun prefers three. That's just another one of the items on our list of opposites.

I baked a meatloaf for dinner along with baked potato, veggie, and a salad. Then the sun went down - our last chance to see a Cayucos sundown for this April. Tomorrow we'll head south. I have prep work to do at the college and I also have online office hours Monday evening. I report back to the classroom on Tuesday morning.

Then we settled in to watch one of the movies Mr. Fun had found at the Cambria Friends of the Library Sale on Friday afternoon. We watched Corienne, Corienne with Whoopy Goldberg. We both really like it.

So that's the report for this Sunday from California's Central Coast.
