Bean there, done that

Getting the poles up and the bean seedlings in always feels like a significant milestone in the growing season. These are  climbing beans that don't become coarse and stringy like runners do.

Wonder though why the poet William Butler Yeats imagined having NINE bean rows on The Lake Isle of Innisfree? Surely the resulting quantity of beans would far exceed one person's needs - unless he intended to dry them and live on them all winter.
 It was a fantasy of course: my trouble is that I'm far too rational.
