The Wisteria House

The building is looking more than a little kaputt but if they were going to renovate it, then the wisteria would have to go and this one looks like it's been there since shortly after the house was built.

There was a funny story at work today.

The revolutionary new way of working has been giving some managers sleepless nights because they are so excited about having a huge new selection of buzzwords.  And because this is SO exciting and SO important somebody decided to have a load of t-shirts printed. Nothing makes IT professionals work more efficiently than a t-shirt produced in an outsourced sweatshop.

Well it's either that or the new buzzwords.

So the order was placed with a company.  T-Shirts with a logo reading "Agile@IT".

Because of "things" the delivery date was repeatedly postponed with assurances that it would be Priority Nr 1 when that pesky supply chain pulled itself together.

And so the delivery finally arrived - I was looking forward to wearing my t-shirt and agile-ly producing some of the most efficient code ever seen on a mainframe.  Bound to be a Huge Success.

And then they opened the boxes.

The supply chain obviously encountered Alphabet Problems.  Or Lphabet Problems.

No "A"'s available - not for love nor money.

So we have a load of t-shirts with "Gile@IT".  Not quite the English fore/surname  (there's a nice story about Ashley Giles that fits well here).
And not quite the German word "Geil" which means something like awesome, wicked or hot - in the way young people use it.

Well, at least it's not as stupid as producing a book celebrating the 175th birthday of a company (you know, the "175th" - the REALLY BIG and IMPORTANT anniversary)and giving every member of staff a copy which nobody read and many took back to a local bookshop to exchange for cash.

I wonder what happened to the Genius who came up with the book idea?  Probably went on to T-Shirt design.

Ooh and I blipped this house before.
