The magnolias have started blooming. I planted this tree for a client last fall and it has been covered in buds the past few weeks, now it is blooming. I think I have to give this client's mother something to do, maybe she can keep the planters watered this summer. Last fall, when I went over to do the Christmas planters, she had already filled 2 of them. She planted a small crab apple tree that I was supposed to plant, but she didn't put it where it was supposed to go. Now I think she has cut some things back in the garden that should not have been cut back. I will leave them another month to see if there is any growth.
The company that planted the gardens last summer did a disappearing act. I saw his ad for a gardener, so I talked to him, and he hired my company. I went over once a week all winter and kept the sticks picked up from his yard. He wants me to stop in a couple of times a week and use the blower on the patio furniture to make sure there are no spiders on them. He's willing to pay me, I don't mind. He is from here and his wife is from Virginia, so they split their time between the 2 places.
