Milking the aphids

A cloudy but warm day.  I popped down to the allotment for a little weeding or rather removing the grass that has grown in areas.  Then it was an early lunch as I had a hair appointment arranged.  It certainly is good to get the hair back in shape.  

I took a look in the garden for todays blip and found these ants on a maple leaf probably milking the small insects (? aphids).

A nature group meeting this evening so time to sort the tea out.
