Playtime

It’s been a wonderful day, the kind of day we’ve longed for, dreamed of, over many winter months. The sun - bright and warm, the sky - blue, the breezes - gentle. A day that shouts Spring! yet teases what’s to come - Summer! • We prepped a couple of raised boxes in hopes of planting tomorrow, depending on nighttime temperature forecasts, of course • The hosta, hummingbird and tall grass beds are all cleaned up and ready for growth • Tulips are budding, poppies have their first leaves, the bleeding heart and columbine are up…there’s so many things to look forward to • I was happy to find my resident red squirrel enjoying this day as much as I was. Like an enthusiastic monkey he scurried up and down tree trunks, jumped from limb to limb, and stopped to pluck and snack a few leaf buds along the way • Apparently there’s more playtime ahead for all of us this week :) • Happy May!
