Lunchtime run

If there's one good thing that has come out of the pandemic - and I can't think of any others - it's the change in working culture. I can't really speak for anyone other than myself or my own business, but having the choice of where to work seems a huge bonus to me.

For a start, on the days when I work from home, my afternoons are far more productive and enjoyable, courtesy of a twenty minute lunchtime nap. And then there is the possibility of taking a lunchtime run.

Today, I drove across to Barbon and ran out along the valley to the bridge, crossed over and ran back along the other side, through the woods beneath the manor. Back in the days when I was more fixated on speed than distance, I did this run in thirty-six minutes and thirty-two seconds. That was in July 2010. Today I did a more sedate forty-five minutes and fifty seconds. I can feel a self-challenge coming on...
