Hirst's Yard, Leeds
Sometimes the back streets of a town can be more telling than the fancy shopping areas with their shiny facades and plate glass. This is Hirst's Yard in Leeds - generally speaking neat, cobbled, flag-stoned and still with it's lovely old street lamps. It has to be said that not all back streets are like this - many are run-down, scruffy and decaying but it's gratifying to find that some are still loved and cared for. But I thought black and white suited the subject better. Hope you like it.
