Kendall Is In New York
It was a major delight to meet Kendall in person after enjoying her blips and comments for many months --maybe a few years by now. We met for breakfast in Midtown Manhattan and took a stroll down Broadway for a stop at the YIVO Library and then more strolling and a subway ride up Lexington Avenue.
This was a chance to see the face and hear the voice of a person I already know and respect from remote communications and from her activism and her thoughts on what it means to be alive in a wild world at this very strange time. It's another piece of luck that this occurred in New York City on a bright spring day. It's a place I'm very familiar with and where stories step out from doorways and wait in your path as you walk on any street.
In the larger image, Kendall is capturing the image of a rather talented banjo player who we found busking on Union Square. In the other, we're standing outside the much-cherished Flatiron Building. I was trying to capture our faces and the top point of the structure with my very beat up camera and this was as close as I came.
Kendall is a person who I hope to visit with again. Maybe we can do that with the great blipper whose name came up many times during that happy morning. Here is Ceridwen on the left, meeting another fine blipper, Chaiselongue, only yesterday in Wales.
