WITH A SONG IN MY HEART

The Music Corner

I bought a guitar holder second hand yesterday and hoped it would be OK to hang my uke on and it is! Frank fixed it on the wall in the boat as there’s never anywhere to put it on there. It usually ended up in Bella’s bed in the daytime but when she wanted to got to bed at night she would stand and stare at it as she wanted to say ‘Oi, Ukey! Skedaddle out of my bed!’
We took Bella to Skipton Castle Woods this morning in the hope that the bluebells would be out but not a single one was to be seen. It’s just too cold for them I think.
When we got back to the boat we set off back to our mooring, packed everything up and came home as we both have stuff on tomorrow.
The Ukrainian lady had asked me for photos of inside our house so I had a quick tidy up and took some and sent them to her. She is on her way with the 2 boys to Kyiv. She still can’t make up her mind whether to stay there, go to a country closer to home or come here. I fully understand what she must be going through. I wouldn’t want to leave my home and loved ones behind either and go so far away. We'll wait and see.

                     Refugee
            I’m praying for you
Leaving your home and loved ones
           to escape the claws
                      of evil

I thought I would be stiff and sore today after dance classes last night but I felt quite loose in my joints.

Plié and Paradiddle!

I’ve got ballet and tap class tonight
and I suppose I really should go in spite
of being tired and not feeling up to it,
I know I must try to keep myself fit.
For I’d like to think as I grow old
that I will still be able to fold
my legs beneath me when I’m sitting
on the sofa, doing my knitting,
and sit cross legged on the floor,
reach high, bend low and do my chores.
Explore the countryside, climb over a stile,
take to the moors, cover some miles.
I want to keep the garden in order,
grow some veg and tend the borders.
So I’ll keep on going to tap and ballet
though I’m far from graceful I must say!
What with ‘naughty fingers’ and crampy toes,
I can’t balance at the bar when I let go,
I’ll never be Lionel Blair or Darcy Bussel
But I’ll continue to plié, paradiddle and shuffle.
:-D

Hope your day was as good as it could be.
Goodnight :-) X
