Happy Bees
After our first night in the camper van we were so happy we decided to do it again. The van was all set up so it was easy to just keep going. I got my vaccination and we went home so Jan could finish off some of her work. Then in the late afternoon we headed south to Galtström.
It was fairly chilly when we arrived. We took a short walk but most of the evening was spent in our camper van. There were three other campers parked up and we didn't see much of our neighbours as we all stayed indoors.
For the first time ever we left our heating on, all night. It was left on low to see what what happen, how well our battery would take the strain of driving the fan. It took it well and we still had over 50% left as we went to sleep. By the time we got up the sun had recharged the battery. We kept the thermostat on low so it got down to just a few degrees above freezing anyway, but that was enough, combined with a snug bed.
The next morning we took another walk and found a seawall to sit against, sheltered from the wind but with the sun shining on our faces, and the sea in front of us, see the extra. After a while we noticed a continuous humming noise and realised a lot of bees were visiting the tree under which we sat. These flowers were probably their first major supply of pollen this year. I tried to photo a bee at work but the bees and the camera weren't cooperating. Mostly they were white-tailed bumble bees, Bombus lucorum.
We spent a leisurely morning at Galtström and then had a slow drive home, via a couple of shops and lunch at an Indian restaurant in Birsta.
