Corgis available for a jubilee celebrations!

Today I went to our local party shop to order some helium balloons for our grandsons birthday party and was amazed at the huge range of goods available to buy for the Jubilee celebrations. There was a huge balloon arch outside the shop and huge platinum jubilee flags. This is part of the window display…which includes a blow up corgi which apparently lights up too! There was also a huge life size cut out of the queen.

For the queens golden jubilee in 2002 I organised several events at the school where I was working…..these included hiring a dress and crown for the Headteacher to wear( she even went to the hairdresser to have her hair ‘set’. ) also a friend in the art department painted two life size corgis on plywood models made by the DT department. I think it’s much better than the balloon one.see extra . The ‘ Queen’ came into the assembly with her corgis. I managed to find a photo in an album! 20 years ago there were many fewer balloons and things like that.
