Predator vs Photographer

Tonight was a practical night for close up and macro at my (Chris) camera club. The idea was to bring whatever you wanted for a bit of a play. A selection of subject matter was available and whilst we all began photographing our own objects, we soon got together in groups and were sharing subject matter as well as techniques and ideas. A few extra photography 'toys' were provided by the club chairman, LED light sources, extension tubes and extenders.

It was a great fun evening and an opportunity really share thoughts and approach as well as trying out some gear. With the club annual competition complete, we're definitely into the moe relaxed bit of the programme.

I particualrly enjoyed playing with lighting and putting some of the skills learnt on the studio lighting course on a much smaller scale. The 'predator' that features in tonight's blip was lit with an LED torch and a combination of strategically placed black and white card to create an 'environment'. Great fun.
