Mill with blossom
Some progress to report:
1. The insurance company have given what I think of as a slightly ironically-worded decision - "the go ahead" for the repairs to my car, a mere 18 days after the pigeon incident. Any further delay will be due to "parts" which, I am told, might have to be ordered from Germany. But May seems likely, for which I suppose I should be grateful.
2. I ordered a replacement passport online today. I had assistance taking a photograph. The first version was rejected as "poor" because, the website said, there was insufficient difference between my face and the bland lemon wallpaper in front of which I stood. I don't know whether to take that as a compliment. The second go, which was almost indistinguishable to my eye, was classed by the government software as "good." We believe this may mean that it does not make me look like a hardened criminal but just a petty one. Only 10 (ten) weeks to wait for the new one to be delivered.
Oh the joys of modern life in the UK.
