Warning for the terminally stupid

This sign is on the inside of the safe in my hotel room. The door of the safe is about 20 by 35 centimetres. Even if you managed to climb inside and close the door by that time it would be too late to read the warming as there is no light inside the safe.

So I spent sometime today (while waiting for computer scripts to run) thinking about who the warning could be for. Then only idea I came up with was people who had handbag dog who wanted to leave their pet in the room.

If you can think of any other explanation, plausible or other wise, please let me know.
