Underneath the arches
One of two arches at Holdenby House where I room sat today. They formed the entrance to the original palace. The house is now 1/8 the size of the palace. Gardens were superb in the sunshine.
Very busy and a lot of visitors through the house. I sat in the boudoir (translated as ladies sulking room). Visiting children were hunting for eggs. Apparently the 'golden egg' was worth £100 and I was asked if I knew where it was. No idea of course. One child asked me if I was sitting on it!
Motorway journey was slow but no stationary hold ups thank goodness.
