Pals
We went to collect Archie about midday, and he was quite pleased to see us. Though once he was home, he has been more cuddly than usual. He NEVER jumps up to sit on my lap, preferring to lie beside me on the sofa, with just his head and front paws in my lap. This is good, because I can still fiddle about on an iPad, say. But today - twice - he has plonked on my lap, which is Pip’s preferred position. I think he might be really pleased to be back home.
Pip has come to spend the evening with us as his family has gone out for a meal. For a quite a while, we each had a lap dog (Extra). And as we were out collecting him, who should walk by but our favourite neighbourhood big boy schnauzer - Hamish! A group photo was obligatory.
Still reflecting on our two week holiday. What a journey we had. It was a privilege to visit so many different countries, to hear such knowledgable guides (who were so proud of their town/city and country) and get an overview of the region - the scenery, the food, the languages, the heroes, the statues, the artists, the music, the towns built on top of mountains (for protection, of course, not for the nice views) the magnificent cathedrals, the roads, bridges and aquaducts over impossible terrain. The brave men who sailed off to unknown lands, the resourcefulness of the people over centuries of invasions, floods, droughts, diseases etc. Our Earth sure is amazing. Pity we’re ruining it.
Started a diet today Will need to lose the weight gained on the cruise. The gym is calling again…
