Dorking Day 3 Brighton
Today was Chris's birthday and we headed to Brighton, a place I have wanted to visit for a while. Chris drove and we used the Park and Ride which took ages to get into the city. Our first stop was the Royal Pavilion which was very interesting. It needs a lick of paint and new toilets (these are hideous) but was definitely worth visiting. We then headed to the beach and, after a short rest soaking up the sun, we walked to the far end of the beach to the marina. This was lovely but our eyes nearly popped out on the way as part of the beach is for nudists!!
On the way back, the police had sectioned off part of the road and we saw a private ambulance so we think someone had sadly died there. We walked back and visited the pier before walking to the i360 and then The Lanes. This part of Brighton had a lovely vibe with lots going on by the beach. We found The Ivy for a birthday meal, saw a very sad looking Choccywoccydoodah (from an old TV programme that I used to love watching about cakes and creations made from chocolate that has now closed down) and then jumped back on the Park and Ride and back to our hotel. Despite searching for ages, I couldn't find Stephen and Daniel's house (Gogglebox)! It was a beautiful, sunny day and I'd love to visit again.
