We had a good walk in Hamilton Wood, just outside the village, this morning. It was still cold, but dry with very little wind.
The badgers had been busy with several new setts dug.
We saw three roe deer walk across the path a bit ahead of us. They stopped and stared for a few seconds, then went on their way. Geordie and I watched a hare for a while trotting along the field on the edge of the wood, when it spotted us it was off like an eh, hare.
The air was full of birdsong this morning, even Geordie noticed.
This afternoon we popped along to Hannah and Maggie’s with their Easter eggs, where we played snap and bingo.
When we arrived Geordie jumped across the garden wall, ran across the garden and was waiting at the door before I had shut the car doors. He loves his girls.
Photo is from the wood this morning. A sawn surface of a tree trunk.
