Pricking out

Today it’s lettuce. You are supposed to be able to sow these directly into the beds where you plan to grow them but my history of this has been disastrous. Last year’s effort setting them off in the greenhouse was really successful though so here we are again.
After posting last night we had an email with the photographic group’s end of year results and I was amazed to discover that my terrific results in the last competition were enough to push me into first place in the table of Intermediate standard members. So I will get a trophy after all. Tough on the person in second place though as the margin couldn’t have been any narrower and they’ve been ahead all season. Is this what being a football supporter feels like?
