Greater Stitchwort

After a site visit to Bainton Pits NR , where a small group of us discussed management to be undertaken this coming year, I spent a peaceful hour wandering round Rice Wood which is looking fantastic with swathes of Wood Anemone and Lesser Celandine in full bloom, as well as many other woodland plants including Bluebell, Early Purple Orchid, Primrose, Bush Vetch and Greater Stitchwort.


The northern end of the wood also hosts a few established garden escapes, including Daffodils, Garden Hellebore, Grape Hyacinth and Balkan Anemone, which all look quite at home!
