Pleione

A day mostly  spent trying to avoid essential  housework and tidying up, by  allowing myself to be distracted by more interesting  matters such as my house plants and seedlings, the crossword, Wordle, reading etc.  Here is a picture of a flower from Pleione formosana,  which is a kind of deciduous orchid. I bought the pseudobulbs last year and  they have flowered again without any attention from me, apart from occasional watering. However, the house is now finally in better order, and my aunt  will have somewhere to sleep when  she comes at the  weekend.
