Wood anemones

The sun shone this afternoon as we had a lovely Spring walk in Cheshire, from Bluebell Cottage Gardens to the River Weaver. En route we walked through the Bluebell Wood which was dazzling with yellow celandines and thousands of wood anemones. Afew bluebells were flowering but it’s probably a week or two before they are at their best. Meanwhile, chiff chaffs, song thrush, blackbirds and blackcap were singing in the trees around us.
