Hoverfly
Despite having some flowers, at the moment, our garden seems to be mainly desolate when it comes to animate life, apart from flies. The few bees and such like that do visit do a quick recce and then bugger off leaving little time to get a photo, even if they land. Anyway, I managed to get this hoverfly.
I’ve included the extra as it’s what looks like a baby garden spider (which I love) and was tiny (as you can see with comparison to the greenfly). It didn’t do anything to the greenfly and just disappeared soon after I took the photo. Maybe it was too small or had already poisoned it?
Better large as Blip unfortunately introduces some moire to the eyes when it downsizes the photo, but less so with the larger image.
