Blissfully Oblivious
One Street: Market Square, Shipley #33
It truly felt like Spring today. There was warmth in the sun and it felt comfortable to be out in a T-shirt. It's time I think to dust off the shorts. I cannot stand having anything around my legs in the summer. And I'm quite stubborn. Once the shorts start being worn, the trousers are put away until September. No exceptions ... even for board meetings!
Time for a bit of street photography today. These two well dressed gentlemen had succumbed to the sunshine and why not indeed. I love that moment on the first day of summer when you close your eyes and feel the warmth of the sun penetrate every winter-worn pore of your body. But they missed out on the twelve foot panda bear that was just about to walk behind them. I could have blipped the giant cuddly beast I guess, but I thought the reaction of the little boy far more interesting!
Thanks so much for all the love for yesterday's Split. Looking at it again today, I think the metaphor was even stronger than I realised at the time. I think the left side of the tree has split under the burden of weight. Too much responsibility. It just had enough. I do feel a bit like that right now.
Just finally, I have no idea what the boy is pointing at - and never will have. This detail was only noticed when I downloaded the image. It's often these little surprise features that I'm drawn to in a photograph. I like the question it raises. One which doesn't have an answer. Just like so much in life.
