Very Rainy at the Coast!

And cold...brr! But we made the best of it! We started the day (after breakfast at the B&B of course) by going to the Oregon Coast Aquarium in Newport. I think they've done a great job of exhibits and history and highlighting the Oregon coast. The main blip is of an Oregon Nettle Jellyfish. They have quite an amazing display of them in this deep blue tank. You can gather by the name that they do sting!

The extra is of the exhibit called "Passages of the Deep" which features many sharks. It's a tunnel with the exhibit all around you...even under your feet. 

Later, a drive north up the coast to the Tillamook Cheese Factory where you can watch the cheese being made and processed, and of course eat cheese and ice cream and buy food and go to the (newly renovated HUGE gift store). A northern coast vacation tradition - of course we've been there a myriad of times so headed straight to the gift shop to get husband's favorite Habanero Jack Cheese. Too hot for me! 

Back to Portland tomorrow - it's been a terrific get away!
