Almost 20 Years Old
Saturday, rugby day, Falmouth’s last home league match of this season, we had no great expectation of a win but it would have been nice to be surprised. It was great weather today and I opted for no jacket and whilst looking for a shirt to wear found this one. It’s the 2003 World Cup shirt, I have another that says ‘Winners’ on it. It was a bit grubby from being at the bottom of the drawer for a while so I gave it a wash.
Son Josh has had a look through my shirt stash and discovered some of them are worth three figures and more, not for sale though.
The sun shone, Falmouth led 11-5 at half time but eventually finished the wrong side of an 11-32 score. It was good to sit and chat with the youngsters and I mean youngsters, the oldest of the backs is 21, they play for the pleasure of being able to ‘play what’s in front of them’ rather than any rigid structure.
Home intending to watch the England Women's team against but fell deeply asleep, not even waking when Mrs S arrived home from her shift.
Todays extra, the view out over the Bay from Boscawen Fields.
