Beautiful Spring!
Saturday
After several grey days, we were treated today to some blue sky and sunshine, though still on the cool side for the time of year. After a wonderful uplifting morning at church, we went hiking at Rowe Woods, and it was such a picture, beautiful blossom, slopes covered with daffodils, and a number of other wildflowers, turtles sunning themselves on logs, and birds at the feeders and singing in the trees! The car parks were virtually full - everybody wanting to get their “fix” of sun and Spring!
It’s been a very cultural weekend, as we were out at another concert this evening - this time a choral concert, at the magnificent cathedral basilica across the river in Covington. The concert featured the May Festival Chamber chorus, the May Festival Youth choir, and a choir from Xavier University, a well renowned Catholic university in the city. The music was quite varied, and featured a number of pieces by contemporary composers, but whereas most modern orchestral music I don’t particularly enjoy, these were all beautiful arrangements. The acoustics in the cathedral are wonderful and it is a wonderful space. I have added an extra to give you an idea, but our sets were right at the side, so it’s not a brilliant photo.
