Port Lympne ~ Howletts ~ Woodbridge

During our stay at Port Lympne we have the use of a golf buggy to explore the reserve.  It was too cold for mum and dad last night so we agreed to meet before breakfast and go for a drive around.  We did start on one buggy but mum was not comfortable on the back of the buggy so I drove one too.  We had a good drive around for over an hour and saw the animals that we didn’t get to see yesterday.  It was brilliant as the park wasn’t yet open to the day visitors.

After breakfast we then packed up and headed over to the sister zoo, Howletts near Canterbury.  A much smaller reserve but they have elephants which are mums favourite (she has quite a few elephant figurines at home).  There were very few people there and we could walk around at leisure although it was chilly.

Two or three times a year Mr C gets invited to talk on a course held in Woodbridge, Suffolk and as his talk was this week and timed with mum and dad coming up we decided to book an apartment for a few days and explore the area.  We headed there after the zoo.

The apartment was lovely and next to the river although our views were across the town.  This is the Tide Mill behind our apartment.  In the evening we ate at the pub across the road.

Back blip no.3.
