Thursday: Minto Bridge

Last day of having to start the working day at 4am……..for now.  It was a course on crisis management, culminating in a mock exercise this morning.  The various roles were assigned randomly - imagine my delight when I was tasked with leading the exercise.  By 8am it was all over but it did feel like an intense start to the day.

I carried on working until about 1pm which constituted a full working day in terms of hours.  I did have to succumb to a nap this afternoon and still feel quite tired.  An early night and a good night’s sleep and I’ll be right as rain.  Luckily I am sleeping very well here.

I wouldn’t say I’m deliberately avoiding it but I’m really not searching out any news on Covid, or going out of my way to keep up to date.  Apart from odd references to cases rising I’m really not up on what’s happening anymore - it’s remarkably liberating.  We’ve both had it, and know so many people who have, that I can’t seem to get too concerned about it anymore.

The weather was much balmier today so we took a late afternoon walk by the river.

It’s 9pm and we’ve only just remembered it’s our wedding anniversary - 15 years!
