Sisters

As you know, I visited my sister last week to celebrate her 90th birthday.  This picture was taken on one of our regular childhood photo studio visits.  I was aged 3 and my sister 9.
We are wearing outfits made by our mother (she made all our clothes).  These were pink silk knitted dresses.  Must have taken her many hours, but it was one of my favourites and I was more than happy to wear my sister's hand me down in later years.
I don't think my sister was pleased to wear the same as me as there was a 6 year age gap.
The photos stopped after my father died as money was short for such extravagancies.
I found the warmth and sunshine unexpected today so tackled cutting down a Choisia shrub that has got too big.  Started with secateurs, then loppers and finally a saw.  Filled the green bin up ready for collectiion tomorrow.
