Celebrating 100 years!

The Choraliers womens chorus, that my daughter Laura sings with at Miami University (Oxford Ohio), are celebrating 100 years this year and their concert this evening reflected that. The program looked back over the last 100 years with music and a slide presentation. For each decade they had two or three pieces of music typical of the time or which was representative in some way of the choir at that time. So it was a wonderful mix, from classical to contemporary, with various sorts of popular and jazz sprinkled in between. The photographs they had dug up included photographs of the director and president of the university (who was doing the narration for the evening) with their respective wives from the early seventies period, which gave the audience (which included a lot of students) a good laugh! Jen and Jason came down from Columbus for the occasion and came back home with us to spend the night. It was a great evening, apart from the weather!
