A view in Ngunguru
We visited my aunt today...well I say my aunt, but she's actually my Mum's cousin. She's always been my Aunty Dallas, so she's my aunt. She lives up in Ngunguru up the top of a hill, and this is part of the view from her deck. She lives up there with her dog, Ben, and her cat, Tui. Ben came in for a lot of play and love today. The Youngest was in her element.
We had a lovely lunch, and I have been given all the instructions in case of emergencies. You see, my aunt is a widow, and not only that but Cystic Fibrosis took both her boys. They lived a long time considering, the eldest was 27 when he died and the youngest was 35. So she's just got us now really when it comes to family. She's off on some amazing journeys this year.
It was so nice talking about old times, and being around photos of her lovely family. They were great fun. They were 6 and 3 years older than me, so when we would go and stay with them (at the time they lived in Cairns), I'd end up having 2 big brothers to annoy.
We also went in to Tutukaka after leaving her to go and see what her parent's motel looked like now. The lady Aunty Dallas sold it to is using it as 3 separate holiday homes for her 3 grandchildren. It's looking a bit unloved, but in a prime beach front spot at Church Bay.
A nice family day.
