Big hike yesterday to top of TC

Pinot, Josh & I went on a bigger yhan anticipated hike yesterday from the Carpark at Treble Cone ( TC) , the Sth Islands biggest & highest skifield. ( 2088 m) . I haven’t been there since the winter of 1987 that was when the mountain was covered in snow and a much easier climb to be honest than yesterday but the views were definitely worth it from the top. The descent from the top on very rusty knee joints was definitely more of a challenge than the going up & at one stage we all got separated & never was i so glad to hear Pinot’s wee footprints coming towards me across the unstable schist . Back to the car 3 hrs later & into town for lake swim for pinot & a late lunch fish n chips on the the lake wanaka beachfront for Josh
