Here comes the bride

We were at a wedding this afternoon at Copacabana Palace Hotel. Well, when I say 'at', what I mean is we popped into the Palace for a nosey and found the bride having her professional pics taken beside the pool. Goodness knows how much a wedding would cost here! It's a pretty spectacular setting and they do an excellent buffet lunch on Sundays, which we usually treat ourselves to once a year or so.

Out lunch today though was feijoada, which is black beans and meat stew, rice, couve (very rich green cabbage, shredded), and slices of orange. It's the national dish of Brazil and traditionally eaten on Saturdays and Wednesdays at lunchtime. Delicious, and all the more so for being able to eat it outside! I think the Copa Palace wedding party would have been having something slightly more delicate tonight!
