Wapping

We've popped down to Wapping today to see daughter#1 and her boys (Husband P, grandsons Rory & Joe)

The drive down was OK, exciting to be driving across London again after such a long time. A lot of new buildings have gone up since our last pre-Covid visit. There is still a huge mount of major new construction going on though. It will be lovely when it is finished.

We had a nice pre-Mother's Day lunch and followed that up with a visit to the market in Shadwell Basin which is right next to where they live. We bought some cakes. London prices!

Afterwards we played with the boys. They had a race, Rory on a scooter and Joe on a balance bike. I got a lot of images one of which I've used as the main blip. I quite liked the random guy walking through the frame in the background.

The extra is a shot from the market. There was a band playing, quite good I thought with a good selection of covers including This Charming Man and She's Electric.

We are babysitting this evening so daughter and SIL can have a very rare night out together at a local charity quiz.  We're in a hotel tonight and will see them again tomorrow.
