Buchaneer Park

As the crow flies this park, and its associated beach across the street, is just one block north and two blocks west of our unit. But two busy railroad tracks bisect the route, so we have to walk farther to a safe crossing. The red umbrellas mark the Buchaneer Cafe, serving breakfast and coffee, and always busy even on overcast days like today. Behind the cafe is Buchaneer Park which has a huge playground, picnic area, and yoga every morning. This is also where Laney loves to chase the ground squirrels (pictured bottom left) and where the fresh water bird sanctuary is found. This morning I saw two new birds there, the Stilt (middle photo) and the Gadwall (bottom right ).
