Diary of an Edinburgher

Olive oil and peach?

Another warm sunny morning, so Hazel came over for a coffee in the front garden. Archie had been barking at a passing dog, as is his wont, when Marsha, his wee pal across the road (and in the top flat) heard him, and started barking back. Pete opened the window and held Marsha up so that she could see out, so they could bark hello at each other.

Later, we took a walk over the Meadows, and down the Vennel Steps for a change. Oh look! There’s NO queue at Mary’s Milk Bar! JR was going to try the ricotta, honey and vinegar ice cream, but decided on olive oil and peach, and declared it delicious. I stuck to my favourite - vanilla (milk). Archie liked both kinds. (Extra)

The Grassmarket was mobbed, but we stayed well away from everyone. Scotland still has the highest Covid cases in the UK, the WORST it has ever been. 1 in 11!! Just as well we cancelled quite a few appointments and meetings and shop visits this week.

We walked home through Greyfriar’s Churchyard, and the Meadows was mobbed on the way home - people sunbathing, picnicking, playing games. Felt quite summer-ish. (Hope they take all their rubbish home…)

Later, JR and Archie went off for another walk! I did not. I had done 6,746 steps.
