Muck and magic

Much of my morning was spent in the warm sunshine spreading manure around the roses. Hopefully it will work it’s magic and help to bring forth some beautiful blooms later in the year. Today, it’s warmth attracted this colourful peacock butterfly but it was very shy and wouldn’t let me approach too closely. 
Later in the day, our niece and her husband came to tea and we watched an action-packed Marvel film which also had some very funny one-liners. It was great to spend some time together as they will shortly be flying off to a new life in Canada, so we have to make the most of them before they go.
