Water butts

My vegetable patch is right up the garden and it’s hard work carrying cans of water up to the seeds. I suddenly thought how we could upcycle two unused dustbins, by adding taps to turn them into water butts.
Rob got out his new hole cutting drill bit which did the job perfectly, and we fitted taps bought at Middletons for £4.
Then I used the hose to fill them, and voila! Good job. I have covered them to stop birds and insects falling in!
I can’t just leave the hose up to there, as we use it for the cold frames at the other end of the garden. So I will fill them as necessary hopefully not too often.
I noticed a spinach seedling peeking through!
