Birthday Seaside

Tim had a 'significant' birthday today, so we decided to go out to the coast and have a mess around with our cameras.  Our closest (by driving time) is Saltburn on the east coast just north of Whitby.

We've not seen the sea for a couple of years - the last time was around the other side of the planet in New Zealand, just before we came home from our holiday and the first covid lockdown kicked in.

There's a variety of other shots from the day in the extras, including some moody black and white and some multi exposures.  The ice cream was excellent, a very strong lemon.

We got home to find a very large pink box by the front door (containing some balloons) and a smaller box which turned out to contain a very yummy rainbow cake and some candles.  Both courtesy of the rest of Tim's family, which was lovely.  Had to set it up and photograph it for posterity.

Today also marks 10 years since the beginning of our photography journey.  For Tim's last 'significant' birthday we went to see John Gravett at Lakeland Photographic Holidays where we had our eyes opened to just what it was possible to achieve with a camera.  We've not looked back, and we've enjoyed building up our photo skills together ever since.
