Leo's leg
Met up with a pal in Our Club and I enjoyed myself listening to school stories! I do enjoy that almost as much as the chocolate muffin that was brought to us, since the pastries were all gone by the time we arrived.
The Man in the Sweaty Leggings came in. He's often there, and he bikes, I think. Either that or he has a Very Strange dress sense... He walked past us in one direction, then the other, then back. Four times. My pal assured me the leggings were sweaty. I did not look that closely.
We popped into a vegetarian restaurant that I haven't been in for yonks. In fact, it's been around for 50 years this year. I remember it fondly as we used to come up to the big city to visit my grandparents and then my parents, and always go there. Used to think it was marvellous. But I don't think they've changed any of the salads in those 50 years... Yes, there are fresh ones every day! But nothing very exciting. Grated carrot, couscous, pasta, rice... surely there are some really tasty salads around. But no muzak, so that's a plus.
We went to see wee Leo and his mum, to check up on his blistered leg from the spilt soup a week or so ago. He's quite proud of it - still bandaged, though. I suspect there will be a few more bumps and bruises to come...He was so sweet, and insisted on getting his coat on to come out with us when were leaving. He's a great wee lad.
The bus charged up Leith Walk, rattling and shuddering over the potholes. Bus drivers, unlike car drivers don't even bother to try and avoid them. At one point I thought the whole bus was just going to fall apart!
Now that would have made a good headline... to follow on from the recent headline - 'Edinburgh's roads the worst in Europe!'
