Spring at Furness Abbey
A pleasant day. Up to Abbey House. Car park quite full as they had some corporate event on.
We walked half way round but the path was cordoned off and some trees have been removed. I'm hoping that not all the numbered trees are being removed.. maybe just some pruning of old branches. I hope so, as we passed a tree marked 176. That would be a lot of trees to remove.
So we walked down towards the Abbey ruins. The light was on in the entrance but it was locked. It opens on weekdays from April 1st.
So we strolled round the perimeter. A few years ago they planted daffodils which are now flowering so I took a few photos ( extras)
The Abbey Mill appeared open so we made our way over there. You can only sit outside ( Covid precautions)) but it wasn't too cold to sit out so we had a coffee and cake. Tea cake for me. M had a huge slice of coffee and walnut cake which he said was very moist. The coffee was ... hot and wet but not much taste , but it was pleasant being able to sit outside in sunshine.
