pebble underneath my feet

til tomorrow's bruises go away

Left for Hiroshima this morning. As soon as I arrived, I noticed the hundreds of people passing by the station carrying snacks, drinks and inflatable baseball bats. Checked in to my hostel and enquired about the baseball. There was a match at the stadium which was only 5 minutes away. There'd still be tickets available if I was interested in going I was told. So I did. Was it weird that I went to a baseball match on my own? (I'm not really into baseball). Still, I thought it'd be interesting to see what the crowd was like and stuff. And it was! I wish I could've understood what the chants were saying. One of the more entertaining activities (the match itself was a bit crap) was looking at the snacks that people were eating. Noodles, soup, rice....not fully Americanised then.

Went back to my hostel and did the most outrageous thing: I had a nap. Yes, after days of non-stop sightseeing, walking around and catching trains I was a bit tired and went to sleep for a couple of hours. Lovely stuff.

In the evening I met up with Sayaka, a couch surfer who I didn't stay with but who took me out for meals in izakayas and typical okonomiyaki places. She was lovely and will be visiting London in August - so hopefully I'll get to see her again!
