Rock Choir at St Hames’s Quarter, Edinburgh

Another fine day in Edinburgh. Fine weather too, if a little cool.

Barbara was singing with Rock Choir so we went to watch their performance at the entrance to the new St James’s Quarter. Very good they were too. These choir members were signing the songs - a new initiative from Rock Choir”

We bought lunch from M&S eating it sitting in the sunshine in Princess Street Gardens watching the world go by.

From there we followed the Enlightenment Walk walk visiting various sites around the city which told the story of Edinburgh’s pre-eminent position in the intellectual revolution of the 17th century, stopping off at places such as the University, Surgeons Hall, Hutton’s Memorial Garden. What a place Edinburgh must have been in these times.

We ended up at the Scottish Malt Whisky Society place at the Vaults in Leith for dinner, a pint or two and a good few drams. First time there for several years. I somehow came away with a bottle of whisky called “Pat on the Back”. I was tempted by another called “Ode to the Barrel”
