Travelling

Mrs S had to deliver her T4 to the garage this morning, I followed on my car and after a quick stop for a coffee Mrs S delivered me to Truro station for my train to Woking in Surrey.

In the novel War of The Worlds, Horsell Common was the initial bridgehead of the Martian Invasion. Located between the Surrey villages of Woking, Ottershaw, and Horsell, it is commemorated with a series of sculptures in around Woking, todays photograph shows the Martian.

Arriving mid afternoon literally minutes in front of son Joshua and his girlfriend Tiana I checked in to the hotel and the three of us set off for a stroll during which I had my first ‘Bubble Tea’, quite enjoyable, it’s tea but not as I know it.
Small town Woking, Sat having a coffee when a good sized disability scooter went hurtling past with me recognising the driver as my brother-in-law Pat, despite calling him several times he hurtled off into the distance only to reappear around thirty minutes later after his daughter, my niece, Katie rang him and told him I had seen him.

Returning to the hotel we had a beer or two until eldest son Barry and family arrived for a quick catch up.
Really good to see them all.
We all headed off for dinner, Taco Bell here in the U.K., another thing I never knew. Thoroughly enjoyable meal and great fun, Chloe and Freya seemed to enjoy the churros most.
Barry, Janette, Chloe & Freya headed home with Josh, Tiana and I heading back to the hotel for a nightcap and some sleep.
