Light Competition
Experiencing an unusual burst of energy this morning with tyres pumped up and helmet on, I cycled forth for a ride round the neighbourhood marches at daybreak.
As it was the first time astride my bike this year, it was nothing too energetic, bearing in mind the sensible old adage “sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof”. It was a good feeling although my frozen gloved hands didn’t share any feeling at all.
It’s not that I have been depressed since the beginning of the year, rather my batteries have been run down. Lack of daylight, Covid restrictions and their attendant lifestyle changes have damaged my joie de vivre. Some early morning sunshine and Sunday lack of traffic on the road managed to tease me out today and charge them up a little.
