Icarus the Eagle
I haven’t felt so excited for ages…. This young Golden Eagle (3 - 4 years old according to our local experts) flew very close to the little restaurant at La Quille on Diablerets Glacier where Bearded Vultures are often seen passing by. It kept flying in front of the sun, hence Icarus. When I first saw it, it was right in front of the Mont Blanc Range (extra, this is a double exposure) to see it in its environment. I was so excited, I said « OMG » rather loudly, pointing my lens skywards, and nearly fell over backwards as it flew overhead. There was a collective holding of breath that released when it disappeared out of sight. What a treat! Just been sending a copy of this to people who were seated next to me.
