The Devil's Point
Did the Devil's Point from the Linn of Dee with C. J+M and S today. We cycled from the Linn of Dee to Derry Lodge and walked up the Lairig Ghru to Corrour Bothy, then it's a quick dash up the hill from there. I stayed in Corrour many years ago on my first trip to these hills, when it was just an earth floor --- now it's all nicely done with wood inside by the Mountain Both Association. Today's blip is the view over to Monadh Mor from near the top of the Devil's Point. The Gaelic name for the Devil's Point is Bod an Deamhain, and a literal translation is "The Devil's Penis", but I believe the local ghillie's felt duty bound to gave a watered down translation to Queen Victoria on her nearby Balmoral Estate, so as not to offend her delicate sensibilities.
