sons and daughters
I took this photo for Joe; he used to love all things Undersea. I was visiting the aquarium dept. of the Heathall garden centre for old times' sake - it was a place he loved to go to. I sent him a video of some tropical fish swimming about, something calm to look at in-between work calls. He is still at our house, and as his job is WFH, he can work from my study and emerge for meals with us.
I was in town because my car was having its MOT and I had a couple of hours to occupy. I walked almost 4 miles, up and down the cycle path, and had some tea in the garden centre cafe. The car passed its test, I'm pleased to report.
While in the cafe, I read about the release of Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe and Anoosheh Ashoori from Iran. How wonderful it will be for their families to see them again. I read this wonderful quote from a letter which Nazanin had written to her daughter:
There will come a day when we will throw away all these bitter and old memories, all that are decayable and only keep the lessons we learned from them. You, I and your father will never succumb to this hurricane of fate. The love we share knows no boundaries and walls. It is our life. There will come a day that we will be able to live fresh all the days of our lives.”
Hopefully that day is very close at hand.
